Pinal County Launches Deed Fraud Alert Program

Staff Report /

**New Program Alerts Property Owners to Potential Deed Fraud in Pinal County**

The Pinal County Assessor's Office has introduced a new program called the Parcel Alert List (PAL) to help property owners monitor potential title theft or deed fraud. While the Assessor’s Office cannot prevent fraudulent deeds from being recorded, the PAL program notifies property owners when a new deed is recorded or when there is a request to change the mailing address associated with their property.

To sign up for the PAL program, property owners must visit a Pinal County Assessor’s Office in person, provide a government-issued ID, and complete a one-page form. This program empowers property owners to stay informed about changes related to their property, though it does not guarantee title protection.

Residents of Pinal County can also sign up for additional recording notifications via the County Recorder’s website at [pinal.gov/Recorder](http://pinal.gov/Recorder).

Mayor Nancy Smith of Maricopa, Arizona, encourages residents to take advantage of the PAL program, calling the sign-up process "super easy." An Assessor’s Office is available in Maricopa at the Pinal County building for added convenience.
