February Promotes CPR Training for Heart Month

Staff Report / CGlocal.org

**February is American Heart Month: Learn CPR to Save Lives**

According to the Casa Grande Fire Department, February is recognized as American Heart Month—a time to raise awareness about cardiovascular health and lifesaving measures like CPR. Statistics reveal that over 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals every year, most of which happen in the home. Unfortunately, survival rates are low, with only 10% of individuals surviving these incidents.

However, performing CPR on someone experiencing cardiac arrest can significantly improve their chances. The Casa Grande Fire Department states that CPR can double or even triple the likelihood of survival.

To help more people be prepared for emergencies, the Casa Grande Fire Department offers CPR classes. If you're interested in learning how to perform CPR and becoming a part of the "Community of Lifesavers," the department encourages you to sign up for a class. You can find more information on how to join by visiting their official page at [Casa Grande CPR Classes](https://casagrandeaz.gov/208/CPR-Classes).
